How to obtain a pre-paid parking card in Dubai

To use the controlled parking zones - RTA Parking centres, in Dubai, you have to obtain a parking card in Dubai. There are about 20,000 parking spaces under the controlled parking system, introduced by Dubai Municipality in 1998. The dubai parking cards are designed in identical colours and shapes. Each RTA parking card Dubai has a serial number and an expiry date. Everyone can apply for this card.

RTA Parking Card

There are two types of parking cards in Dubai - Type A and Type B. You can park your car at any car park using the A card. However, RTA parking card B holder, parking facilities can be used only at car parks with a B marking. Depending on the type of the card, the cardholders will be able to park their cars on off-street public parking grounds or on-street parking lots throughout the subscription period irrespective of the number of parking hours. Besides, they are also entitled to use the parking lot overnight.

• 3 months = AED700
• 6 months = AED1, 300
• 12 months = AED2, 500

Parking Card RTA type B

• 3 months = AED450
• 6 months = AED800
• 12 months = AED1, 500

Both the cards have a validity period of 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. Short-term use cards are also available for 10, 20 or 30 days. These cost around Dh30, Dh50 or Dh100 If you have more than one car, you can use a single card, provided the registration numbers of all your cars, are stated on the card.

Parking card in Dubai

• The Parking cards cannot be used to park vehicles in the Dubai Media city, Dubai International Airport and Dubai Internet City.
• If you lose the card, you have to contact the Parking Department (RTA), or call toll free no 8009090.
• You are not allowed to copy the pre-paid card or use a copy instead of the original card.

Dubai parking card for people with special needs

There are special services available for the physically challenged people. The pre-paid cards given to them enable their vehicles to be parked near the entrance of a building or near a ramp, if the RTA disabled parking is available.

People who can apply include:

U.A.E nationals and expatriates who own a vehicle registered in Dubai.
